Monica’s been adjusting to the life of a “basketball wife” but she’s also busy working on her new album.
Mo’s been in the studio grinding it out with the super producers Polow da Don and Missy Elliott, but also plans to work with Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox.
Monica recently went LIVE via her UStream channel to give fans a few details about her upcoming album…
RoJay from Mo’s premiere fan site MonicaSoul, took in the live chat and posted a play by play.
Monica’s new album is called ‘New Life’ and while there were a few technical difficulties during the live chat session, Monica still managed to get quite a bit of information out about the project.
So what can fans expect from the album? Monica revealed:
The music will be a lot like ‘Still Standing’ in the sense that it’s real and really about things that I’ve experienced, but it’s also from a very mature place. The greatest thing that happened to me is to learn forgiveness and acceptance. In this state of mind it’s easy for me to make music about where I’ve been and where I’m going and do it in a positive manner.
As for a release date. Mo is realistic about the pressures of releasing a quality album, but she hopes to stick to the album’s fall release date.
The label [J Records] has asked me, do I want to take an October 4 date.Over the next month I’ll decide because as of right now, we’re pressing up the new single and trying to get some clearances which are very difficult. So if anything changes it will only be because of that. We’re working on it and I’m thinking that I will keep that October 4 date.
So we definitely have something to look forward to this fall! I can’t wait to see what Monica comes up with on this new project!
